The Taoist Moogle Minion is a reward from the Moogle Treasure Festival, which is a Seasonal Event.
It could be bought from the Itinerant Moogle (Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks – Hawkers’ Alley, X:9 Y:12) for 1 Irregular Tomestone.
At the moment, there is no other way in the game to get the Taoist Moogle Minion.
The good news is that this Minion has already been seen twice.
The Moogle Treasure Festival is a recurring event in FFXIV that encourages players to play older content.
So this probably means you’ll have a chance to get the Minion in the future!
The events that gave this minion precedence were:
- The Grand Moogle Treasure Festival (September 18th, 2018 – October 12th, 2018)
- Moogle Treasure Festival – The Hunt for Pageantry (May 14th, 2021 – June 14th, 2021)
Even though there was a long time between these events, it’s likely that there will be more, so you haven’t completely missed your chance.
There’s also a chance that the Taoist Moogle will be available for purchase at the Mog Station in the future.
And each time a Moogle Treasure Event happens, it works the same way:
Some jobs give you special Irregular Tomestones that you can use to buy different rewards.
The benefits of doing these jobs are:
Duty | Reward |
---|---|
The Praetorium | 20 Irregular Tomestones |
Dun Scaith, Castrum Meridianum, Orbonne Monastery | 14 Irregular Tomestones |
Ridorana Lighthouse | 12 Irregular Tomestones |
Weeping City of Mhach, Royal City of Rabanastre, Copied Factory, Puppets’ Bunker, Tower at Paradigm’s Breach, Hades’s Elegy | 10 Irregular Tomestones |
Void Ark, Nidhogg’s Rage | 8 Irregular Tomestones |
Labyrinth of the Ancients, Syrcus Tower, World of Darkness | 6 Irregular Tomestones |
PVP Modes (Various) | 6 – 10 Irregular Tomestones |
Eden’s Gate Raids | 3 Irregular Tomestones |
Alexander & Omega Raids | 2 Irregular Tomestones |
The Tasks that give Irregular Tomestones can be different from one Event to the next.
This is just a general idea of what you can farm.
It’s also important to know that the Itinerant Moogle sells a lot of things besides your Taoist Moogle Minion.
These things are:
- Dungeon Gear (Drowned City of Skalla, etc.)
- Ballroom Etiquette (Excessive Petticoats, Insufficient Petticoats, etc.)
- Trial Mounts (Blissful Kamuy, Warring Lanner, etc.)
- Orchestrion Rolls (Dancing Mad Movements I – IV, etc.)
- Minions (Dwarf Rabbit, Taoist Moogle, etc.)
- Triple Triad Cards (Susano, Zenos yae Galvus, etc.)
- Modern Aesthetics (Gyr Abanian Plait, Form and Function, etc.)
But in general, the list is very different.
Even if you don’t need your Taoist Moogle Minion, you’ll find what you need here.
Maybe that one hard-to-get mount will finally drop for you.
No matter what, I hope you don’t have to wait too long for the Minion.
