The Final Fantasy XIV expansion pack associated with the introduction of the Viera or Hrothgar races is required in order to play as a member of those races.
Patch 5.0, released after the Shadowbringers expansion, included two new playable races to Final Fantasy XIV: the Viera and the Hrothgar.
The Viera is a tall, slim humanoid with distinctive bunny ears.
Formerly, only Viera females were playable characters. However, with the release of Patch 6.0 for the Endwalker, Warriors of Light now have the option of playing as either a male or female Viera.
Hrothgar, on the other hand, is a race that resembles lions and is only seen in Final Fantasy XIV as males.
When compared to Viera’s smooth and silky appearance, the Hrothgar’s formidable countenance features naturally sharp claws and piercing fangs.
Similar to how the female Viera was portrayed as beautiful and deft Dancers in the Shadowbringers marketing materials, Hrothgar was shown as powerful and tanky Gunbreakers.
However, Final Fantasy XIV is not biassed against any of its playable races, as players are free to combine any combination of race and Job.
That is to say, playing a role like a Hrothgar Dancer or Viera Gunbreaker is not only permissible but also rather rare.
But how exactly to play these two prominent races in Final Fantasy XIV is a typical issue for novices and Trial users.
Although some players may be able to see the available races on the character creation screen, they are unable to select either of them as their Warrior of Light.
This mess was brought on by people not buying Shadowbringers, the expansion for Final Fantasy XIV that comes out in 2019.
Unlocking Viera And Hrothgar In FFXIV
A digital copy of Shadowbringers must be owned in order to play as a Viera or Hrothgar in Final Fantasy XIV.
The “FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Complete Edition,” which includes the base game plus the expansion packs A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker, is the best and most convenient method to achieve this.
The “FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition” only includes the A Realm Reborn and Heavensward expansion packs.
The “FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker expansion pack” provides that option to upgrade.
All of these buys must be done through the game’s official store.
The PlayStation 4 version of Endwalker or the Complete Edition is required if the player’s Final Fantasy XIV account is on that platform.
Those who use Square Enix’s standard PC version will need to purchase the expansion on the official site, while those who use Steam will be limited to using Steam.
The PC version of Final Fantasy XIV can be downloaded from Steam or the Square Enix website, along with versions for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
