How Do I Get The Gobwalker Mount in FFXIV?

As a reward for defeating Alexander Gordias — The Burden of the Father, you can obtain the Gobwalker mount (Savage).

Keep in mind that this is the Savage flavor of the 8-person Raid, but that it can still be queued for through the Duty Finder.

After defeating the boss, the mount will drop, along with other loot.

You don’t even have to defeat your fellow Warriors of Light to claim the mount; you just have to win the treasure roll.

Since only one piece of Gobwalker Gear drops per clear, you’ll likely have to do this numerous times.

The good news is that about four competent individuals can un-sync this fight. If you put up a Farm on the Party Finder, you should have no trouble getting enough people to attend.

Unlocking The Alexander Gordias Raid

Gobwalker Mount in FFXIV

If you’ve ever wandered through what is known as The Dravanian Hinterlands, you’ve probably noticed this looming iron giant.

You must travel to this location in order to access the Raid that houses your Mount.

The first level of the Raid system in the Heavensward expansion is Alexander: Gordias.

You should be level 60 and have finished the Heavensward Main Scenario Quest before beginning.

Visit the Goblin NPC named Slowfix (Idyllshire – X: 7.5 Y: 6.5).

To return to the Hinterlands, the “Disarmed” quest must first be started. After only a few quick fetches, you will get Alexander: Gordias – The Fist of the Father unlocked.

If you stay in line and complete your Duties in order as they become available while also completing the interstitial Quests, you will get access to the top floor of the tier.

These are the standard variations; you’ll need to take one more step to access the Savage variant.

Find the Wandering Minstrel in Mor Dhona once you’ve finished “A Song of Steam and Steel” (Mor Dhona – X: 21.7 Y: 8.7).

After a little discussion, you will be able to use Gordias at the Savage level.

The good news is that you can skip the lower levels and go straight to The Burden of the Father. Do it with a group!

Spoils Of War (Or Magic)

While relentlessly gathering Gobwalker components, you may come across Gordian Manifesto, Page 4.

You may be wondering what the purpose of the pages that fall from each Savage floor is.

No need to worry if you don’t find a particularly interesting piece of Glamour loot throughout your time in the Raid.

Visit Idyllshire and speak with Sabina at Rowena’s Center for Cultural Promotion (Idyllshire – X:5.7 Y:5.3).

She will gladly accept your Pages in exchange for the items listed here.

Happy hunting!
