21 Best Skyrim Quest Mods

Skyrim comes with a huge number of quests that will keep you busy for hours.

But since the game came out so long ago, it’s only natural that players turn to the world of modders to find new adventures to keep the Skyrim world alive.

Fans of the Elder Scrolls series have done a great job of making the best and most interesting mods.

Some of these mods are so big that they basically change Skyrim into a new game, and some of them are as good and as big as the official DLCs that have been released so far for Skyrim.

So, I’ve put together a list of the best Skyrim quest mods you can find online. I know how hard it can be to find good new quests to play, but this list should help you get started.

21. Skyblivion

If you haven’t heard, a HUGE mod called Skyblivion is being made that combines the story of Oblivion with the engine of Skyrim.

So, you’ll be able to play The Elder Scrolls IV again with Skyrim’s graphics.

The project has been in the works for a long time and isn’t quite done yet (as of when this article was written), but there’s already a trailer that looks as good as any other Elder Scrolls game. Keep an eye out for when this mod comes out.

20. Shezzarine: The Fate of Tamriel

In this mod, you play as Shezzarine, a powerful warrior whose fate is to change the world of Tamriel.

The most important thing about this mod is that Onmund, who is an apprentice at the College of Winterhold and a friend to many players, gets a key role and thousands of new lines of dialogue to talk to him.

You’ll have to decide the fate of both Tamriel and the Thalmor. How will they look? Your actions will change the way things went in the past!

19. Enderal

Even though Enderal is one of the most complete mods on this list, it is higher on the list because it isn’t really a quest mod but rather a whole new game.

Enderal is a new game that was made by modders over the course of a few years. It uses the same engine as Skyrim.

The game is surprisingly full, with hundreds of lines of dialogue, quests, and a story that has never been seen before.

Keep in mind that Enderal has a lot of bugs because it wasn’t made by a big team of professionals but by fans of the TES series.

18. Moonpath to Elsweyr

This huge mod adds all of Elsweyr to the base game of Skyrim. This area was added in an Oblivion mod before, but it has been completely redone to meet the graphical needs of TES V.

This mod will take you to the land of the Khajit, where you’ll have to help them fight against the Thalmor to protect their area and keep it safe. I think it sounds like a real adventure.

17. Fight Against the Thalmor

Like the other mods on this list, these three will put you in a position to fight the Thalmor. But in a more straightforward way.

You’ll get to fight for yourself and try to stop the evil Elven society by using the power of the Dragonborn to destroy the enemies of peace.

South Dragon Bridge is one of the best books in this series, and I really think you should read it.

16. Into the Depths

Do you like playing scary games? If so, Skyrim might not be good enough.

But if you want to be scared, I think you should try this amazing mod.

In Into the Depths, you go into an abandoned mine where people say they’ve heard the voices of the dead.

You’ll have to look around the mine and try to figure out what’s making the noises so you can stop them.

Keep in mind that this mod is supposed to add a scary questline to Skyrim, so if you’re easily scared, you might not want to try it at all.

15. Psijic Realm

Do you say you are a strong mage? Do you want to become a member of the powerful Psijic Order?

Then you’ll have to finish the College of Winterhold questline and wait to hear from a member of the order who will invite you to take a test and join their ranks.

The Psijic Realm mod adds a lot of new places to the game as well as a new questline with dozens of hours of gameplay where your main goal will be to defeat the Dark Brotherhood!

14. Undeath

If you want to live a life where you are in charge of dark magic, you might want to try the Undeath mod.

This makes a dark more fun because it lets you become a powerful Necromancer who can bring the dead back to life and get the powers of a Lich King.

This mod is for people who like Conjuration.

13. The Wheels of Lull

If you know a lot about The Elder Scrolls history that goes beyond the TES games, this is probably the mod you should try.

It adds a lot of new quests, weapons, armour, and dungeons that have been mentioned in other Elder Scrolls stories but haven’t been in games yet (up until this mod was released, that is).

You don’t have to know a lot about lore to like this mod. But you might not get some of the references and won’t feel as immersed as someone who knows a few things.

12. Moon and Star

Moon and Star isn’t as big a mod as some of the others on this list, but it still adds a new questline with a familiar enemy from TES III: Morrowind.

It also gives you a new town and new weapons to find and use. So, all in all, it’s one you should try if you have the time.

11. The Forgotten City

The Forgotten City Quest will be perfect for you if you like mods with interesting stories.

This is one of the few quest mods where the way you play can change how the story ends.

This means that it’s a lot of fun to play again and again with different endings.

10. Summerset Isle

In the Elder Scrolls universe, you can only go to Summerset Isle if you play TES Online. However, thanks to this awesome mod, you can now also go there in Skyrim.

The legendary Elven home is likely to be in the next Elder Scrolls single-player game.

In the meantime, you can travel to Summerset with all of your Skyrim gear and explore the vastness of the area with your own gear.

This mod adds a whole new area to the game as well as hundreds of new NPCs and quests, each with their own unique lines of dialogue that can only be found in this mod.

9. Maids II – Deception (NSFW)

Maids II is a continuation of a popular mod for Oblivion that many fans liked.

Deception adds to the story and makes the chain of events even more complicated.

Even though the story is very interesting and unique, you should be aware that Deception has a lot of content that is not suitable for kids.

Stay away from this mod if you don’t want your Skyrim save to be full of, um, stuff that kids shouldn’t see.

8. Beyond Reach

The Reach is a dark area that will feel very creepy to you the first time you go there.

In fact, you’ll notice right away that things never get bright in The Reach (also called High Rock), where there seems to be a curse on the land.

Your quest will be to figure out why things are going wrong in The Reach while keeping your sanity and getting to know three new groups.

Each faction has its own goals and reasons for doing what it does, and the story is written as well as any other in the base game.

7. Beyond Skyrim

Beyond Skyrim wants to add many parts of Tamriel to the base game Skyrim.

So far, only Bruma has been released, and there’s an even bigger mod that adds almost the whole world of Cyrodiil to the game. However, this mod has the best details of any other mod out there.

The area looks like it was made by professionals, and it has dozens of new quests and dialogue that you won’t find anywhere else in the game.

If you liked Bruma in Oblivion, you’ll love the chance to go there in Skyrim with its better graphics and game play.

6. The Tools of Kagrenac

Here, you’ll need to figure out what happened to the Tools of Kagrenac after Morrowing ended. But you probably already know what they are if you played the game.

If you haven’t seen it yet, I don’t want to give anything away.

Get ready to go on a quest that will really test your strength of will.

5. The Gray Cowl of Nocturnal

You have to find the Gray Cowl of Nocturnal to finish this long quest, which is basically the same as the end of the Thieves’ Guild quest in Oblivion.

But this story has been greatly expanded, and there are hours of new game play to enjoy.

Start this awesome quest and finish it to become the most famous thief ever. See where it takes you.

4. Helgen Reborn

No matter which list of Skyrim mods you look at, Helgen Reborn will be near the top.

If you don’t remember, Helgen is the small town that Alduin destroys right at the start of the game. It stays destroyed for the whole story of the game and is never used again.

But in Helgen Reborn, you can follow a long chain of quests to rebuild the city and decide who will be in charge of running it, whether it’s the Empire, the Stormcloaks, or the people who want to live in Helgen again.

3. Wyrmstooth

Wyrmstooth will take you on an adventure to find a dragon that has been causing trouble for the people in the area for a while now.

The story will tell you who the dragon is, why it acts the way it does, and how you can stop it.

If you want to win, you’ll have to solve a lot of puzzles and go through a lot of dungeons. But there are a lot of benefits!

2. Legacy of the Dragonborn

The Legacy of the Dragonborn is likely one of the most well-known mods in Skyrim’s history.

It adds so many quests that you won’t be able to keep track of them all. It also gives you a personal museum and dozens of hours of new game play to keep things interesting.

This mod will help you become an artefact collector and even give you your own museum in Solitude.

In fact, Legacy of the Dragonborn includes the Path to Elsweyr mode. This means that if you get this one first, you won’t have to download the Khajit homeland questline mod.

1. Falskaar

If you’ve ever looked for Skyrim quest mods, you may have heard of Falskaar.

Even though the story added by this mod isn’t canon, it fits in perfectly with the lore and gives you over 20 hours of fully voiced gameplay.

Because of how much work went into it, this is the best Skyrim quest mod around, and you can spend hours exploring the vast lands of Falskaar.

The mod adds many new books, weapons, quests, and even a unique soundtrack made by the people who made the mod to make your experience unique and special.

There are a lot of Skyrim mods out there, but this quest mod is by far the best.
