In Final Fantasy XIV, Relic Weapons serve as legendary equips because to their rarity and significance.
They are modelled after famous weapons from past Final Fantasy games and serve as the ultimate weapon for each job.
Legendary relic weapons are powerful, but they aren’t always the greatest option.
However, after you’ve unlocked a relic for yourself, they’re significantly more powerful than most of the other weapons you can choose from.
And the phrase “Relic Weapon” might apply to the set introduced in A Realm Reborn, or it can be used more generally to cover all of these weapon sets across all of XIV’s expansions.
Shadowbringers‘ Resistance Weapons are presently being unlocked and levelled up.
Unlocking the Relic Weapons in A Realm Reborn (ARR) and subsequent expansions requires meeting specific conditions.
However, there is one thing that most of these weapons have in common: they require a significant amount of grinding to acquire and level up.
How Do I Unlock My Relic Weapon?
Complete A Realm Reborn and all of your job objectives to unlock the first set.
The quest “The Weaponsmith of Legend” can be picked up by travelling to Vesper Bay in northern Thanalan.
It will take you to Rowena in Mor Dhona.
Afterwards, all you have to do is stick to the quest’s instructions.
If you think this is simple, just wait.
You’ve got some time on your hands.
Obtaining your first Resistance weapon in the current content is a challenge, but it is just the beginning of a long road.
You must have finished the main tale of Shadowbringers and the mission “City of Lost Angels” before continuing.
This is a huge distraction by itself, taking essentially the same effort as finishing a 24-player raid that came out in Stormblood.
Fans of Final Fantasy XII may find this raid particularly appealing because it takes place once again in Ivalice.
If that sounds too difficult, be assured that the raid has been toned down a bit since release, and many players are still seeking Resistance Weapons.
There shouldn’t be too long of a wait for Duty Finder if you compare it to the queue lengths for other older content.
After the raid has been completed, you can complete the quest “Hail the Queen” in Kugane.
Then, after a long (quest) chain, many conversations, and an equally long (instanced) task, you will be rewarded with your weapon.
You’re probably thinking, “That doesn’t seem that horrible.”
Complete some simple fetch missions and take out some bosses.
There have been one hundred hours of me doing that.
So, there must be a catch, right? (as always).
Once you’ve completed the steps above and “gotten” your weapon, it will essentially be a prototype and future upgrades will require completing further tasks.
You’ll need to put in a lot of time and effort and become acclimated to the Bozjan Southern Front area in order to successfully complete these phases.
You should allocate a considerable amount of in-game time to this procedure.
Plus, here’s a tidbit: you aren’t limited to a single Relic Weapon.
That way, you can gain access to them for any available position.
But you’ll have to do a lot of work over again.
Are Relic Weapons Worth Getting?
What you seek is the determining factor.
Only completionists or those looking to make a flashy fashion statement should bother with A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, and Stormblood relics.
The models of the relic weapons are quite remarkable, and they certainly stand out more visually than many other choices.
However, you might expect to acquire more effective weaponry in a short period of time.
So, it’s probably not worth investing so much time developing something you’ll only use temporarily.
Attempting to recover the Resistance Weapons is a different story.
Best-in-slot status has rarely been awarded to relics (AKA the most optimal equipment for your job across the entire game).
However, they retain tremendous strength.
The only way to progress is to complete end-game raid activities, which not everyone enjoys.
Additionally, when raiding for weaponry, you are completely dependent on random number generators.
There’s a chance the weapon you need won’t drop, and even if it does, someone else might be after it.
However, if you choose to unlock and upgrade your Resistance Weapon, you will always have access to a powerful weapon.
It’s a guaranteed thing, but it may require a lot of effort to achieve.
