A tantalizing glimpse of a new Sony IP has been leaked online, and fans of sci-fi RPGs are already getting excited. The footage, which is just seconds long, was posted on the gaming leaks and rumors subreddit, along with some details that lend credence to its authenticity.
According to the post, the game will be a third-person sci-fi RPG built in Unreal Engine 5 by a studio based in Europe. It features a character with a rifle approaching a massive, shifting tower, with a giant Lovecraftian eye-like object in the sky.
The footage is clearly from an alpha build of the game, but that hasn’t stopped fans from drawing comparisons to other titles such as Resistance, Gears of War, and Haze.
Dusk Golem, a well-known leaker in the gaming world, confirmed that the footage is indeed from a game they’ve nicknamed “Ooze.” They haven’t seen the leaked clip prior to it appearing online, but they have seen more recent builds of the game, which they say are much more polished, fully voiced, and feature original music.
Some have speculated that this could be the long-rumored Project Carbon, which was mentioned in leaked PlayStation documents back in 2022. However, Dusk Golem has dismissed this possibility.
While the leaked clip is brief and the footage is clearly a work in progress, fans are cautiously optimistic about what they’ve seen.
