Every Upcoming Star Wars Games

Fans of a galaxy far, far away will be happy to hear that there are a lot of interesting new Star Wars games on the way.

This year, the sequel to one of the best Star Wars games, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, came out, and we also got our first official look at Star Wars: Outlaws, which has quickly become one of the most anticipated future Ubisoft games from Massive Entertainment.

There are a lot of projects in the works that will take us on adventures in the Star Wars timeline, so we can expect to see a lot of different kinds of games from a lot of different creators.

If you want to know what’s coming up in new Star Wars games, you’ve come to the right place.

So you can keep track, we’ve listed below all of the upcoming Star Wars games that have been released so far.

Star Wars: Hunters

Upcoming Star Wars Games

Release date: TBC 2023
Platform(s): Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS

Hunters is a new team-based game that will be available on mobile and Switch. Star Wars: Hunters is a game made by Zynga and Lucasfilm Games.

It takes place after the Galactic Empire falls, and you can choose from a group of new characters as you join squads and fight in multiplayer battles in different “iconic” Star Wars locations.

In the upcoming arena-combat game, you can choose to fight as heroes like Rebels, Stormtroopers, or bounty hunters.

During Star Wars Celebration 2022, there was a talk where it was said that each character will have a backstory and a set relationship with other characters.

Star Wars: Hunters was supposed to come out in 2022, but the release date was moved to sometime in 2023.

Star Wars Outlaws

Release date: 2024
Platform(s): PC, PS5, Xbox Series X

Fans are really looking forward to an open-world Star Wars game, so Ubisoft Massive will have a lot to live up to.

In June 2023, during the Xbox Games Showcase, a cinematic video for Star Wars Outlaws was shown to the public for the first time.

The title takes place between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in the original Star Wars series.

It tells the story of Kay Vess, a smart criminal who wants to get out of the criminal underworld by pulling off the biggest heist ever.

She gets help from her cute animal friend Nix and a droid that used to be a Separatist fighter.

The game is being made with Ubisoft’s own Snowdrop engine, and there are reports that it won’t come out until March 2024. Officially, the movie will come out in 2024.

Respawn’s Star Wars FPS

Release date: TBC
Platform(s): TBC

Respawn is also working on a Star Wars first-person shooter that doesn’t have a name yet. Survivor is the next game in the Star Wars Jedi series.

The project, which was first shown in January 2022, is being led by Peter Hirschmann, who is the head of games at Respawn.

Hirschmann has worked on the original Star Wars Battlefront games and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, so he is no stranger to the Star Wars brand in the gaming world.

At the time of the announcement, work on the game had “just begun,” so it will probably be a while before we get a solid release date or more information about the game.

Still, since Jedi: Survivor is a new game, it seems safe to think that this new experience will be available on the newest consoles.

Respawn’s Star Wars strategy game

Release date: TBC
Platform(s): TBC

As if a first-person shooter and another step in the Star Wars Jedi series weren’t enough, Respawn announced a Star Wars strategy game.

The untitled Star Wars strategy game was shown off alongside the first-person shooter. It is currently being made in a “production collaboration” with the newly founded company Bit Reactor.

The project will be made by Respawn, and Bit Reactor will be in charge of making it.

Greg Foertsch, who has been making games for a long time and has worked at Firaxis on games like Sid Meisner’s Civilization series, is in charge of the new company.

So far, not much has been said about the project, so it’s possible that it won’t be out for a while.

Star Wars: Eclipse

Release date: TBC
Platform(s): TBC

Star Wars Eclipse, which was announced at The Game Awards 2021 with a jaw-droppingly beautiful cinematic video, is a story-focused and decision-driven game made by the same people who made Heavy Rain and Detroit: Become Human.

The project was mentioned when it was still in its very early stages, so its release is probably still years away.

Eclipse takes place during the High Republic, when the Jedi Order and the Republic were at the top of their powers.

Knights of the Old Republic remake

Release date: TBC
Platform(s): PS5, PC

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) quickly became a fan favorite when it came out in 2003. The game is regularly ranked as one of the best in the Star Wars franchise.

So, it would be an understatement to say that fans were happy when a remake of the highly praised game was announced at the PlayStation Showcase in 2021.

Finally, players could play a game with modern graphics and gameplay that told one of the best Star Wars stories ever told.

The game was a dream come true for many people, but it has turned out to be a huge headache for everyone who worked on it.

Aspyr, a relatively new company, was given the chance to work on the KOTOR remake. Many of the developers who worked on the original game also came back for this project.

At first, everything seemed to be going well, but in July 2022, the project was put on hold because Sony wasn’t happy with the KOTOR test they were shown, according to Jason Schreier of Bloomberg.

Things got worse, and the game’s design director and art director were fired. Eventually, Aspyr was kicked off the project, and Saber Interactive took its place.

The game was set to come out in 2023, but that seems very unlikely now. KOTOR probably won’t come out for a few more years, but we hope the wait will be worth it.

Amy Hennig’s Star Wars game

Release date: TBC
Platform(s): TBC

Skydance New Media is also working on a Star Wars game that doesn’t have a name yet.

Amy Hennig, a veteran writer and director who has worked on big hits like Uncharted and Jak and Daxter, will be in charge of the business. She will be working with Lucasfilm Games on the project.

The new Star Wars game is said to be a story-driven action-adventure. Not much else is known about the project, but a source says it could be a comeback of an earlier Star Wars project that was eventually cancelled.

A leak suggested that it might bring back Project Ratag, a game set during the time of the Rebel Alliance that was being made at the EA company Visceral.

This is not yet confirmed. We don’t know much about the project yet, but we can’t wait to find out more.
